There may be some folks here that may be unaware of my annual road trip to a civil war battle demonstration event in Huntington Beach CA. This is the time of year I fundraise to make the trip happen.
So far, a few donations have come. A friend is helping through his Costco account to lower the cost of the rental. It means travel to Pittsburgh, transfer my load and head west. This saves over $150 on the cost, but changes my route. The bright side - I get to see some states I've not ever been through.
The event host has a standing policy that he wont hire any other to represent US Grant if I cannot make it.

Events like this allow me to have a broader outreach for living history and has a big impact on how some folks may otherwise miss out on a deeper understanding of who US Grant was and what an impact he had on the outcome of events in his time.
